We absolutely love the custom stain you chose, and the pin-top design with the rod iron rods looks so elegant and classy. The new banister really changes the look of the whole house, and the fact that the rod iron poles are now up to code and closer together, provides Jayme and I a lot of confidence knowing that our children won’t be able to slip through and hurt themselves. My wife and I danced around the issue of getting our bannisters redone to a traditional appearance. We were so tired of the standard, metal bannister rails typical of tract builders that we could scream and until we moved ahead the rest of our planned renovations were on hold. We checked with a couple of places but then on the referral of a contractor friend we connected with James Haan of JWH Construction. He listened to what we had in mind, worked with us easily and quickly understood the look we were after. He provided a professional, written statement of the work to be done in the time promised below the cost of other local specialty shops doing the same type of work and he began work in the time promised. The work required him to be creative and flexible in completing the work and, honestly, it came out beautifully. James paid close attention to detail through the entire process, satisfied all of our requirements and minimized any disruption that work of this kind causes. I am eminently satisfied with the work and, more to the point, my wife is over-the-moon happy. I would have no hesitation bringing JWH Construction back for other work.

Our staircase was designed to be a focal point when we remodeled the downstairs of our home.  When entering through the double front doors, the design was created to give a dramatic effect to our two story entrance.  James Haan was our contractor, and his workmanship was outstanding.  He is a perfectionist, which is apparent.  He worked for hours giving the structure the detail it required.  Besides being an artist, he is honest, dependable, and was anxious to please us.
